Vern Rinkel Memorial Scholarship

Vern Rinkel was a man born in 1940 at Hillman MN. He began his electronics career in Western Union working in Information Technology systems. He worked his way up from intaller to City Operations Manager for a large office. He finalized his Western Union carrer as supervisor of engineering service in Hawaii. He began his teaching carrer in Wadena in 1972 within the electronics department and helped the department grow to a nationally recognized educational center for students in high technology field. He worked to continually improve and grow a student’s education by connecting high tech firms with highly capable students. He believed that his students were the programs greatest assets and dedicated his career to get students to understand the same.

To qualify for this scholarship, students must be completing the Electrical Technology program at the Wadena campus.
